　　太陽又一次從那老牛背似的山脊梁露出了臉，山娃一夜沒睡了，腦子里老是翻騰著爹昨夜的話：“到哪兒也別忘了自己叫山娃！”

　　山娃19歲，生在這石山環(huán)抱的窮村子里，從小就要強(qiáng)，三年前考上了縣里一中，今年又考上了城里的大學(xué)。窮山溝里飛出了金鳳凰，不大的山村熱鬧起來，山娃爹也成了村里的“名人”。可山娃卻老覺得爹不那么高興，總像心里有話似的又不說。好容易在山娃臨走前憋出一句，還是讓人摸不著頭腦。

　　山娃又睡不著了，手里揉弄著僅有的三百塊錢。明天，一號床的杜宇生日，說是要去酒吧慶祝，山娃聽說過酒吧，據(jù)說那里的東西貴死人，一杯水也要七塊來錢，山娃想起了山溝溝里的家，想起了為供養(yǎng)他上學(xué)而早早出嫁的姐姐，還有辛辛苦苦拉把他長大，為了賺學(xué)費(fèi)沒日沒夜的爹，一邊是真正成為“城里人”的機(jī)會，一邊是勒緊腰帶過日子的家人，山娃有些犯難了，爹的話突然在耳邊響起來：“到哪兒也別忘了自己叫山娃！”是啊！山娃！山娃腦海中浮現(xiàn)山村周圍那一座座的石山，那山都有棱有角的，從沒見什么能把它磨平過，山上土地貧脊（瘠），也沒見它們像南方的山一般花紅柳綠，濃妝艷抹，它們有的是樸實(shí)，只是沉默，只是拼命地?cái)D出微薄的'養(yǎng)料來養(yǎng)活山下的人。山娃，山的娃兒，那一座座山的娃兒！山娃忽然明白了爹的話，不只是爹的話，還有許多許多。山娃睡著了，臉上帶著笑，夢里他又一次爬上了那座最高的石山。
