1. 語(yǔ)言知識(shí)目標(biāo)：
1) 能掌握以下單詞： clean up, city,cheer, cheer up, give out, volunteer, notice, used to, lonely,
能掌握以下句型：
① You couldhelp to clean up the city parks.
② We should listen to them and care for them.
2) 能了解以下語(yǔ)法：
情態(tài)動(dòng)詞could, should的用法;用should或could提出建議并對(duì)別人的建議作出評(píng)價(jià)。如何表達(dá)主動(dòng)提供幫助。
2.情感態(tài)度價(jià)值觀目標(biāo)：
在授課過(guò)程中滲透助人就是助己，助人收獲快樂(lè)的情感目標(biāo)，使學(xué)生在談?wù)撊绾螢閯e人提供幫助的對(duì)話中能意識(shí)到盡己所能，幫助他人，樂(lè)于奉獻(xiàn)是一種良好的品德，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生為他人著想，熱愛(ài)公益事業(yè)，樂(lè)于助人的優(yōu)良品質(zhì)。

Step 1Warming up
1. 播放學(xué)生志愿者進(jìn)行義務(wù)幫助別人的活動(dòng)視頻，通過(guò)詢問(wèn)他們以下問(wèn)題來(lái)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生們了解社會(huì)上一些的志愿?jìng)冞M(jìn)行的活動(dòng)。
T: Who are they?
S：They’re volunteers. Theyusually volunteer to help others.
T: How could we help people?
S1: We could clean up the parks
S2: We could help sick people in the hospital.
S3: We could help plant trees.
…
Step 2 New words
1. city n.城市
e.g.The library is in the north of the city. 圖書(shū)館在城市的北部。
2. notice n. 公告牌;通告;布告
e.g.Please read the list on the notice board. 請(qǐng)讀公告板上的名單。
3. sign n.標(biāo)志;信號(hào)
e.g.Look around, we could see no sign of life.
環(huán)顧四圍，我們看不出一點(diǎn)生命的跡象。
4. volunteer v. 義務(wù)勞動(dòng)，自愿做 volunteer to do sth. 義務(wù)自愿做某事
e.g.Many people volunteer to work on the farm. 很多人志愿到農(nóng)場(chǎng)去工作。
5. clean up 打掃;清除
e.g.The students take turns to clean up their classroom. 學(xué)生們輪流打掃教室。
6. give out 分發(fā);散發(fā)
e.g.Please help me give out these test papers. 請(qǐng)幫我將這些試卷發(fā)下去。
7. cheer v.歡呼;喝彩
e.g.Cheer up. The news isn’t too bad. 振作起來(lái)，消息還不算太壞。
8. lonely adj. 孤獨(dú)的;寂寞的
e.g.I don’t feel lonely because I made new friends here.

9. used to 曾經(jīng)， 過(guò)去
e.g.Jack used to be short, but now he’s tall. 杰克過(guò)去很矮，但現(xiàn)在高了。
Step 3 Discussion
1. 1a. Look atthe ways you could help others. Then list other ways.
2. Ss discuss with theirpartners and write the ways one could help others:
① Helpto plant trees by the river.
② Helpto clean up the city park.
③ Visitthe old people in the old people’s home.
④ Helpyoung kids to learn English.
Step 4 Listening
1. T: Tell Ss to read the sentences in thechart. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences.
2. 1b. Play the recording for the Ss to listenand number the ways the boy and girl could help others.

___ The boy could give out food at the food bank.
___ The girl could volunteer in an after-school study program to teach kids.

Step 6 Listening
1. 2a:
T:A group of students are planning a CityPark Clean-up Day. Listen and check (√) the things they are going to do to tellpeople about it.
1. Look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and checkthe pictures.
3. Play the recording again to check the answers.

3. Ss act the conversationin pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
Step 8 Reading and Role-play
1. Read the conversationsand answer the two questions:
① Where’s Helen going towork this summer?

2.Read the conversation after the teacher.

Step 9 Languagepoints
1.They told me stories about the past and how things used to be.
used to do sth. 過(guò)去常常做某事;表示過(guò)去習(xí)慣性、經(jīng)常性的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)，暗指現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)不存在。used無(wú)人稱和時(shí)態(tài)的變化。
e.g. I used to go to theYouth Center. But I have no time now.
我過(guò)去經(jīng)常去青少年中心，但現(xiàn)在我沒(méi)有時(shí)間了。
Grandparents used to tell us stories when we werevery young.
在我們小時(shí)候祖父母常給我們講故事聽(tīng)。
2.Yeah, a lot of old people are lonely.
lonely adj. 孤獨(dú)的;寂寞的指精神上感覺(jué)孤獨(dú)、寂寞。
e.g. The old man feelslonely, so he raises a dog.
那名老人覺(jué)得很孤獨(dú)，因此他養(yǎng)了一只狗。
3.We need to come up with a plan for the City Park Clean-up Day.
need 用作實(shí)義動(dòng)詞，有“必要”、“必需”之意，有人稱、數(shù)和時(shí)態(tài)的變化，可以接名詞、代詞、動(dòng)名詞或帶to的動(dòng)詞不定式作賓語(yǔ)。
e.g. The man needs anEnglish dictionary when he works.
這個(gè)人在工作時(shí)需要一本英語(yǔ)詞典。
Do you need to see him yourself?
你必需親自見(jiàn)他嗎?
4. clean up意為“打掃;清理”。但如果在clean和up間加個(gè)連字符號(hào), 它就是名詞了, 意為“掃除”。
e.g. You must give yourclassroom a good clean-up.你必須對(duì)教室進(jìn)行徹底地打掃。
come up with 提出(觀點(diǎn)，看法)。
e.g. He has come upwith a great idea. 他想出了一個(gè)絕好的辦法。
Icame up with a better plan than that. 我提供了一個(gè)比那還好的計(jì)劃。
