　　《羊脂球》發(fā)生在普法戰(zhàn)爭時期，莫泊桑將主角定為了一個處于社會最底層，受人歧視的xx，作為正面人物來描繪，這正是這部作品與眾不同的地方;更吸引人的是，他將這個xx同形形色色、道貌岸然的資產階級人物作對比--在去往英國逃難的一路上，由于羊脂球的出現(xiàn)，馬車上的人們一下子都成為的朋友，而且還是親密無間的'朋友，即使是在那樣的情況下，依然在一個xx面前擺出一副自命清高的樣子。
