　　Nowadays the core advantage for an enterprise to secure an edge in theglobal market is the valuable asset—human capital. More and more people haverealized that human capital, as a resource, has become more and more significantfor creating social wealth. Based on a survey of the management of the world top500 enterprises, researchers have suggested that in the 60s, enterprises focusedon production; in the 70s, they shifted to marketing; in the 80s, theyemphasized capital operation; while since the 90s, they have attached greatimportance to human resource management. This will inevitably result in more andmore needs for Human Resource Management experts. Therefore, I hope I can becomea professional in international business, particularly with insights from HumanResource Management, Economics and Finance, serving clients of all lines ofwork.

　　As an undergraduate student in Beijing Forestry University of China, I havedone sufficient preparations for my pending graduate studies in Human ResourceManagement. Majoring in Logistics and Marketing, the vigorous and variouseconomic and financial program and relevant courses have allowed me to have aclose touch upon Macro/micro-economics, Econometrics, Statistics, BusinessManagement Theories, Accounting, ect, which armed me with a solid basis offundamentals. However, with constant fervor for Human Resource Management, Ididn’t confine my learning to a single academic discipline. I ventured furtherbeyond my curriculum to learn different courses, for example, I exerted greatefforts to study Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, Psychology andSociology, , which I view as necessary building blocks for a successful HRprofessional in the age of globalization. Therefore, with my curiosity and clearrecognition of Human Resource Management, I plan to pursue my graduate educationat your program, where I can have a close contact with the renowned professors,and I believe, under their rounded guidance, I will finally realize my ultimategoal as a top-notched expert in Human Resource Management.

　　Business and corporations nowadays do not rely on professionals knowingonly rigid numbers or outdated facts or materials which were obtained fromtextbooks, while they concern more about flexible utilization of knowledge inthe real business world. Bearing this in mind, I actively took part in a widerange of internship. The valuable experiences in Mercers, Inc., benefit me most.As the largest US human resource consultancy firm with substantial presence herein China, I was very lucky to shoot the rare opportunity to practice under theguidance of one of the senior consultant in Beijing Branch. During that periodof time, I have assisted leaders of the Human Capital Department for series ofprojects, such as Cummings Motor Company, ZTE Communications Company. Theseprojects are mainly based on the priding proprietary intellectual propertyrights IPE (International Position Evaluation) and 3P (Position, Personality andPerformance). What’s more, I took responsibilities of checking and analyzingdata for 25 dealers in Beijing regions and writing 5 compensation reports andproject summary.

　　From the experience, I deeply recognized that learning of Human ResourceManagement in classroom couldn’t show me the full and real picture of reality,even though they did impart in me the central principle that human beings arenot just particles of a giant machine in the organization. Human ResourceManagement in reality is very complicated, which covers a wide range of aspects,for example, economic perspective, behavioral analysis, statistics and businessaccounting applications, and so on. Never before have I become so enlightenedand clear of the essentials of Human Resource Management. As part oforganizational management, it is necessary for me to understand other functionsof the organization, such as marketing, production management, ISO, etc. Suchgreat understanding, on one hand, proves my improved understanding of HumanResource Management; on the other hand, brings great pressure on me, and spursme to explore more in this field since what I have grasped now is toolimited.

　　In order to balance my life, I also enthusiastically involved in colorfulextracurricular activities. For example, I have been once the volunteer inBeijing Running Angel Foundation, raising money for the poor and disabledchildren. In addition, I have planned and organized many school activities, suchas lectures of economic management, the 12th Capital University Student GreenActivity “Green Bridge”. All these not only enriched my life, but also providedme a chance to truly experience how to take the fullest advantage of differentmembers’ unique talents, how to cooperate with them, which are very crucial formy further career development.

　　After careful review of your university, I feel my studies would best besuited there. With your advanced research facilities, world-class faculty, andstrong academic atmosphere, I will become knowledgeable in terms of comparativeanalytical methods, interdisciplinary views toward human factors in workplace,and economic statistics for multi-national organizations.
