　　Nowadays, there are many kinds of activities for people entertaining in their leisure time, especially in holiday, such as climbing a mountain, having a picnic, holding a party and so on. However, these recreational activities have its advantages but also bring some harmful influences to people’s lives.

　　First, to some extent, these recreational activities enrich people’s lives. Those who take part in different activities will not be easy to feel lonely or boring in their leisure time and live wonderful lives instead. Second, taking part in some group activities is a good form to strengthen friendships. For example, many students will hold a union to collect their old classmates or friends in winter holiday so that they have a common time to communicate with each other. Last but not least, such activities like climbing a mountain provide a good chance to do exercise.

　　However, these recreational activities also bring some problems at the same time. For one thing, taking part in too many these activities will increase the burden of themselves or their families because it is inevitable to spend some money in holding these activities. For another, some recreational activities have potential harm for participants’ health, particularly staying up all night, drinking and smoking.

　　Therefore, in my opinion, we have to make a careful consideration before we take part in these recreational activities.

　　Abundant recreational activities make people’s life more colorful and people can release their stress with amusement. Also, participating in recreational activities helps promote our competence. However, too much recreational activities will bring problems. For instance, many young students are addicted to online games, which will generate bad effects on their studies and might lead bad consequences.

　　In my opinion, we should keep a balance between amusement and study or work. Of course, we should join some recreational activities after study, but we need arrange our time properly. Only in this way can recreational activities provide more benefits for us.

　　As the social civilization develops at a fast speed, the new century has brought us with an unprecedented variety of recreational activities ranging from traditional outdoor activities such as playing ball games to all kinds of other indoor activities. People can do sports, singing karaoke, go dancing, go to the movies, play video games or online games, or surf the Internet.

　　On one hand, recreational activities are good to people’s health, both physically and mentally. Sports and dancing can keep people fit. Singing karaoke will bring more excitement and enrich people’s life. Playing video games can satisfy people’s imagination and develop people’s intelligence. Surfing the Internet can bring people plenty of information and knowledge. What’s more, some recreational activities, such as going to the cinema or theatre, playing volleyballs in a team will be inductive to strengthen the affection of the family.

　　On the other hand, some recreational activities, such as playing mahjong and poker, might be time-consuming and harmful if people are addicted. Spending too much time and money on these activities will seriously influence people’s normal lives. There are also some on-line games which is great appeal to the young generation. Those who are indulged in the games may waste too much time to study and exercise.

　　As far as I am concerned, people should take part in meaningful recreational activities and try to benefit more from recreational activities. Only in this way, can they become more energetic and creative when they work and study. When it comes to those addictive, and less meaningful activities, I think to stay away from them is a wise decision.

　　Not only does reading provide me with a wide range of knowledge, it also broaden my mind towards the world. Different sorts of books contain various thoughts of life, work, relationships and cultures. When reading a novel, I can experience joys and tears of the characters through one story after another. When it comes to a biography ,I can even speak to the great person as if he stood towards me. Don’t always regard reading as tools to prepare for exams or show off how knowledgeable the person is.

　　A true reader is the person who shows knowledge naturally while communicate with others. Reading indeed has an important impact on people’s behavior, which is the reason why I will never give it up.
