　　Cars and Air Pollution

　　Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

　　One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars to completely replace the traditional ones.

　　Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not buy private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly.

　　On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and the environmentalists.

　　我教爸爸一些日常單詞的讀音，爸爸也學得很認真，只有一沒事就翻出筆記本來一遍又一遍的背，可我家也不只有我爸爸一個“英語文盲”我媽媽還有爺爺都是，當他們聽到這些讀音時，又難免會出一些笑話。

　　有一次我爸爸正在讀“BUS”這個讀音，剛好被我爺爺聽到，爺爺破口大罵：“你這小子，我辛苦把你養大成人，你卻咒我死！”“我沒有啊！”爸爸納悶著呢，“那你剛才為什么說爸死啊！”哦，原來是爺爺誤把“BUS”想成“爸死”了。爸爸只好給爺爺解釋，我在一旁笑得肚子差點破掉。

　　還有一次，那天是情人節，媽媽想問問爸爸他最愛的人是誰，可我正在教爸爸Idon‘tknow這個單詞，媽媽一進來就問爸爸：“你最愛的人是誰？”爸爸也剛好跟著我說Idon‘tknow這個單詞，媽媽一聽，大怒，在我爸爸的臉來了兩招鐵砂掌，打得我爸爸暈頭轉向，爸爸問媽媽怎么回事，媽媽說：“你還好意思問呢，剛才我問你最愛的人是誰，你是怎么回答我的！”“我沒回答啊？”爸爸又陷入困境，“還狡辯？剛才不是說‘愛董特娜’嗎？”爸爸一聽，知道媽媽又誤解了，只好解釋，哈哈，爸爸真是倒霉啊，讀得真不是時候，害自己被媽媽扇兩耳光。從這以后的1個月后，也沒什么誤解的.事發生了。爸爸已經把我知道的全學了，剛剛“出師”又有誤會發生了。因為爸爸學會英語后在家里大多數都用英語說，連著急時都用英語，這天，他說了一句令媽媽憤怒的話。

　　早上起來，爸爸剛下樓，看見媽媽在做早餐，便說了一聲“goodmorning”媽媽聽罷，放下手中的早飯，上來就給爸爸一招“七傷拳”打得爸爸“口吐鮮血”A型B型O型AB型都有。（借用武林外傳中的臺詞）爸爸忙問道：“怎么了？我又說錯話了？”“哼！還好意思說，你說你姑爹摸我，我能不生氣？”哈哈，媽媽又聽錯了。

　　哎，爸爸真是命苦啊，剛學完英語，就挨了一頓打，真是可悲哦！

　　however, i do not agree with the parents. nowadays, many children have been deprived of their free time and become mechanical learners at the price of their own interest. i think children should have the rights to enjoy their childhood, and to play. in their spare time they can do what they want to do. gradually they will discover what they are interestedin and do their best in respective fields.
