　　為了適應新的形勢，作為一名警察不但要業務精通，而且要不時地學習新的知識來充實自己，爸爸單位經常要舉行不同的考試，英語考試就是其中的'一項。這下可苦了爸爸，因為他是在鄉下長大的，所以英語基礎非常地差，沒辦法，只好現在用功了。他每天只要一有空，就會坐在家里的錄音機前面跟著讀，還特地叫姑媽給他買了一本英語詞典呢!記得有一次，我放學回到家，剛走近門口,就聽見了有人在讀英語，我感到很奇怪，想：今天是誰比我回家還早呢?我進門一看，原來是爸爸啊。當我走到他的身后，爸爸竟然還不知道我來了呢。我拍了拍他的肩膀，爸爸立刻回過頭來，看見了我，說：“兒子，你回來了啊，剛才嚇了老爸一大跳啊。”看著爸爸這么專心致志地學習，我放下了先玩一會兒再做作業的念頭，于是我就坐在旁邊開始做起作業來了，突然我聽見錄音機停下來了，哦，原來是爸爸遇到了一個不熟悉的單詞，在翻詞典呢，只見他一邊翻著字典，一邊嘴里還默默地念著這個單詞，當學會了這個單詞，又繼續讀了起來，直到半夜我去解小便，看見客廳的燈還亮著，哦，原來是爸爸還在學英語呢。一開始我以為我們全家我最辛苦了，沒想到爸爸白天要上班，晚上還學習，真辛苦啊!就這樣，爸爸用這種堅持不懈地精神，慢慢地學習著英語。

　　看見爸爸這認真樣兒，我心里暗暗下決心：一定要像爸爸一樣專心致志地學習，小時候先學好基本功，扎好基礎。不管做什么，都要認真、堅持不懈地去做好。
