I don＇t think I have read many books; nevertheless, I attach much importance to reading. A Chinese proverb says, "It＇s always a good thing to open a book; " in other words, reading is always beneficial. Despite the fact I am not widely read, I can rest contented that the few books I have ever read really greatly added to my knowledge. Still, if you want me to name the book that I like best and has largely shaped my life, I will definitely say it is the Bible. We know human life consists of three parts: first, physical life; second, mental and intellectual life; third, spiritual life. The second and third parts I fine in the Bible. The Bible has two portions, the Old Testament and the New Testament. You will marvel at the rich contents of the Bible when you read it. It covers a wide range of subject matters: law, history, prophecy, gospels, history of churches and visions of the future, and all are couched in a simple yet beautiful language. I have been a reader of the Bible for a number of years since a good friend of mine introduced it to me by chance. I like it and take it with me everywhere I go. Maybe just one or two pages I can read each bay, yet even form so little can I learn so much. It gives me moral strength and teaches me how to order my daily life. In a word, this book plays an important role in my life. The Bible is not simply great literature to be admired and revered; it is food for thought for everyone.

such things happen that she always goes into raptures at the mere mention of women＇s rights. she has a big heap of theories of her own to teach those naive girls in the dorm. though she often etols the virtue of being independent, having no marriage,having no children, or even never trusting men＇s words, she has never put it into practice up to now.what＇s more ridiculous,she was propagating her forever-correct ideas last minute, while she is meeting her beloved boyfriend this minute and never tired of meeting those new handsome guys. when we laughed at her for her unworkable theories, she always laughed like a drain, "i love guys, but i don＇t trust them.what i am doing is to earn the same opportunity of having fun of love as men always do,"she added every time, "eperience is the best way to protect yourself from those bad guys!" this doesn＇t surprise me any more for the real equality with men is not like this.
in my opinion, real advocators of women rights never deliberately set out to draw attention to themselves.they disregard those old social rules of women and men without being aware that they＇ve really done something to bridge the inequality with men. compared with those women like who has been mentioned above, they have a strong inner desire to pursue the same opportunity as men have. unlike girls who lay great emphasis on taking advantage of cosmetics and fashionable dressing, they spent much more time in learning, reading and perfecting themselves.they＇ve been conscious that without a perfect performance capability and advanced skills in the field of what they are working,the equal opportunities won＇t fall down from the heaven. besides this, they also involve themselves in such activities as discussions, seminars, forums and mass media to make the society and men know them well. this, with no doubt, is an effective way to better women＇s social status and narrow the gap between men and women.

Coal
Coal is so commonly used in life that we seldom notice it. We burn coal everyday to heat food and water. The first locomative was driven by burning coal. In winter we feel a special need for coal. The coal gives us fire, light, heat and warmth. Industry cannot operate withoutcml, therefore,mai i9 called the food lot industry.
Coal is not so treasured as gold. Gold is made into shining ornaments for the necks of heroes and heroines. Coal is shining in its own way. It burns silently for the benefit of all. In a sense it is black gold.
Coal underwent great changes before it became the bright, brittle, black substance which we now use. During ancient times, when the earth enjoyed a very warm and moist climate, the land was covered with large forests and big plants. As time went on, the ground changed and began to sink. These enormous quantities oftrees and vegetable matter were covered by a deposit of sand and clay. This layer of sand and clay pressed upon the layer beneath and prevented the contact with air. These trees and plants succummed to the pressure and changed their appearance.
Generation after generation, as the ground kept gradually sinking, another layer of sand and clay was deposited above the layers already formed. A great pressure was thus exerted and the peat was changed into the black and brittle substance which is known as coal.
From the formation of coal, I see that the coal bas the same character as the pine trees in winter. The pines remain green when they are covered with snow. The coal remains of service to mankind after being burted underground for years and years.

經歷了多少代又多少代，隨著地面不斷地漸漸下陷，又有另一層泥沙覆蓋在已經形成的泥沙層上，因而產生巨大的壓力，泥炭便變成又黑又脆而被稱作煤的物質。
從煤的形成中可以看出，煤具有冬天里松樹的性格。松樹被雪覆蓋時，仍然保持碧綠；煤被埋在地下多少年又多少年，仍然在為人類服務。
