　　Many wild animals are facing the danger of extinction,because the environment that they are living in has changed greatly.

　　For example,with the developmet of cities,the using of insecticide and serious pollution,their living areas have bee narrowcr and narrower.Many of the wild animals,now are confronted with food crisis.At the same time,man is killing off species just for getting their fur,skin,horns,teeth and meat.

　　In order to protect our resources of ecology,people should realize that the loss of any species is at least the loss of source of knowledge and a source of natural beauty.

　　There fore,measures of the following should be taken:pollution standards are made to keepdown poisons; killing off certain rare species is prohibited; national parks should be set up as wild life,reserves.

　　Only if we human beings take some drastic measures can wild animals be preserved.

　　I am very glad to give a speech today.The topic of my speech is the animal.I always think that animals are the friends of our human beings.They are not so complicated as our people,and they can always bring us plenty of happiness and satisfaction.

　　Since I was a child,I have been keeping animals,such as cats,dogs,ducks and so on.Sometimes I feel a little troublesome to feed them,but everytime I think about the happiness they have brought to my family,I will find that it is worth doing it in spite of so much hard working.You can imagine that,when you come home with your tired body,dogs are rushing at you and swinging their tails happily.That kind of warm feeling can be only brought by the pets.

　　Both the domestic animals and the wild animals are lovely.However,they are being treated cruelly by lots of people at present.I can't understand those people.You may not like animals,even you could hate them,but you have no rights to hurt them.

　　Every life of the living creatures is equal.Every life of them has the right to live happily.Human beings mustn't hurt those innocent creatures for our personal desire.

　　Animals regard us as their friends,so we should let them enjoy their happy lives too.

　　It is known to everyone that the unrestrained slaughter of wild animals has diminished the number of some endangered species.More and more species are being driven to extinction every year.It is terrible to think that magnificent animals are being sacrificed to human vanity.

　　There are already laws enacted to prevent the importation of rare animals and the products made from their flesh,skin and bones。

　　These laws must be strictly enforced.Violators of these laws must be severely punished 。Moreover,the public must be informed about the natural treasures we stand to lose 。If we don’t take immediate action,we will be depriving future generations of our most precious heritage。

　　In Taiwan,because most people do not understand the importance of wildlife,the wildlife is in a poor situation.We Chinese are fond of eating anything delicious,so there are many animals killed by hunters.People enjoy eating tigers,bears,birds,and lions,so there are fewer and fewer birds flying in the sky and fewer and fewer bears running here and there in the forest.Instead,we often see them for sale at the market.How poor they are! And how cruel we are!

　　In my opinion,we should try every possible way to preserve wildlife.First,no one is allowed to hurt any wild animal.Second,the authorities concerned should punish those who kill any wild animal.Third,we should pay more attention to those endangered species to protect them from being eaten.If we can do so,nature must become very beautiful。

　　Animals are natural resources that people have wasted all through our history.Animals have been killed for their fur and feathers,for food,for sport,and simply because they were in the way.Thousands of kinds of animals have disappeared from the earth forever.Hundreds more are on the danger list today.About 170 kinds in the United States alone are considered in danger。

　　Why should people care? Because we need animals,and because once they are gone,there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting.They are more than just a source of food.Every animal has its place in the balance of nature.Destroying one kind of animal can create many problems.For example,when farmers killed large numbers of hawks,the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice.Why? Because hawks eat rats and mice,with no hawks to keep down their numbers,the rats and mice multiplied quickly。

　　Luckily,some people are working to help save the animals.Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem.And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger.Quite a few countries have passed laws.These laws forbid the killing of any animal or plant on the danger list.Slowly,the number of some animals in danger is growing。

　　Many animals are in danger of dying out. As is clearly shown in the bar chart, the kinds of wild animals have decreased sharply in the past decades. With 30,000 wild animals reduced on average each year, there were only 1.5 million left till 20xx.

　　There are several reasons accounting for this problem. Apart from the polluted environment and natural disasters, illegal killing is an important reason. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for fashion and a big profit, which can be seen vividly from the right picture. This has resulted in a sharp decrease in the number of animals.

　　In my opinion, it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them. A national public campaign should be launched to give animals a good living environment. In addition, the government should pass some firm laws to forbid abuse killing. Only in this way can we live in harmony with wild animals.
