　　Hello everyone! "I'm a big boy from class five, grade six."

　　Book is the ladder of human progress, it can let us edify sentiment, also can let us increase knowledge. Every reading of a book can give us different feelings.

　　Read the "dream of Red Mansions" tragic ending, can not help the tears Huahua; when I read "the fairy" mills, understand people do not just look at the human shortcomings, also need to think more about the benefits of others; when I read "journey to the west" is a vivid character to attract; when I read "meet" understand people can not blindly take, but to know how to pay......

　　Although I have read so many books, I was also a person who didn't like reading. At the age of four, I like to travel with my father and mother, and my parents often play with me. But one day, my father and mother saw that other people's children had already memorized several ancient poems, but I could never recite anything. 　　Have you insisted on reading great books

　　What is a great book? There is no end to the making of books. Nor does there seem to be any end to the making lists of great books. There has always be more books than one could read. You can be happy at the fact that the number of that is relatively small.

　　However,today,people usually leave it in the library. According to the national reading survey issued by The China Academy of Press and Publication, in 20xx, only 55% Chinese aged between18 and 70 book read books .That is to say, there are more than forty percent of the people seldom read in China.

　　It is a great challenge to literature. As a educated student,have you insist on reading great books. In order to change the situation ,we must take actions to read great books.

　　In Adler’s essay of What is A Great Book, he explain why we should read great books. I conclude it as follows.

　　First,great books are the most readable. They will not let you down ,if you read them well. The have more ideas per page than most books in the their entirety. This is why you can read a great book over and over again and never exhaust it contents.

　　Second ,great books are always contemporary,in contrast to the books we called contemporary,because they are currently popular ,last for a year or tow,or ten at most. You may probably can not recall the names of many earlier best sellers,and you may probably would not be interest in reading them. But the great are never out modeled by the movement of thought or the shifting winds of opinion .

　　Third ,great books are the most instructive. This follows the fact that they are original communications. They contain what cannot be found in other books. Whether you ultimately agree or disagree what they say. They are the primary teachers of mankind. They have made basic contribution to human right .

　　Just giving you the reason is not enough, I will give you some methods to realize you reading dream.

　　Firstly,you can begin with a interesting novel. You will be attracted by the figures,the plots .Than ,after reading a lot of books ,you may be get into a habit of reading. So,you can contact with some complex books,such as philosophy ,arts and so on. You will be shocked at the new world.

　　There are countless great books in our library,you must make great advantage of it. Of course ,it is a better choice to buy great books. Collecting books is a enjoyable thing,at least for me. So,reading great books. The new world is coming.

　　When I'm free or in trouble, I always take out a book and read quietly. In no time, I've put my heart into it so that I'll forget all the troubles. It's in this way that I've formed the habit of reading in any time.

　　Little boys as I was, I was interest in picture books and storybooks. I was struck by them. No sooner had I entered the middle school than I began to read novel, plays, essays and so on. And I was also deeply impressed by Helen Keller's patience and perseverance… Besides these, books also tell me other thing -how to be a man and how to tell the difference between right and wrong. In a word, good books can make me know what I didn't before. So I think of a good book as my best friend.

　　I'll never forget this famous saying,“ Good books are best friends who never turn their backs upon us.”

　　Have you ever learned English by watching English DVD movies? Is that an effective English learning method for you? Why?

　　Watching English DVD movies is a very effective method of learning English. I learnt English at college at home. As a natural result of insufficient English speaking environment, my speaking and listening abilities were not developed satisfactorily, although my reading and writing abilities were quite all right. I remember my experience during a summer vacation when I made plans to watch 10 original English movies (I mean those not dubbed.) including the classic Casablanca, Rebecca, A Tale of Two Cities, and Little Women.

　　Ipersistently carried out my plan and each of the films I watched a dozen times until I could recite most of the dialogues. At the end of that summer vacation, I found I became nearly as fluent as a native English speaker.

　　The Ways of Reading(讀書之法)

　　We may obtain knowledge by reading. The more books we read, the more we accumulate the knowledge. Is it right? I don’t think so. It’s not wide reading but useful reading that leads to excellence. And only good books can benefit us.

　　So choosing books is very important for reading. Many students spend a lot of time reading legends and swordsman novels. It’s a waste of time. Some students even read some bad books and it is harmful for them.

　　So be as careful of the books we read, as of the company we keep, for our habit and character will be as much influenced by the former as by the latter.

　　In the process of reading, I also met difficulties.
