Lost time is never found again. This is something which I learned very clearly last semester. I spent so much time fooling around that my grades began to suffer. I finally realized that something had to be done. It was time for a change.
Now I have a new plan for using my time wisely. I have set my alarm clock ahead half an hour. This will give me a head start on the day. I have also decided to keep a log of what I do and when I do it. Looking back on what I’ve done will give me some ideas on how to reorganize my time.

Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen!
I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! my topic is Opportunities and Challenges.
First, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness, wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question to president Nixon, he would probably had said,”O(jiān)ur destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.”
Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?”
For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 20xx Olympic Games is a tremendous gift. Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying the love given to us .The society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captain is waving his hand and saying ”Hey! Come here and take the helm! ”How charming his voice is, but we have never heard of it in our true life. This morning, however, when we wake up, we will see the Olympic Games waving its hand. After chewing, most of us will have at least one plan about what to do for the Olympic Games. And mine is to be a “comforter” ----that is someone who will give comfort to others.
At the end of my speech, I hope all the preparation will go well, and everyone will show their ability to the world. Let us seize opportunities and give a big smile to challenges.

In the matter of courage we all have our limits. there never was a hero who did not have his bounds. i suppose it may be said of nelson and all the others whose courage has been advertised that there came times in their lives when their bravery knew it had come to its limit.
I have found mine a good many times. sometimes this was expected--often it was unexpected. i know a man who is not afraid to sleep with a rattle-snake, but you could not get him to sleep with a safety-razor.
I never had the courage to talk across a long, narrow room. i should be at the end of the room facing all the audience. if i attempt to talk across a room i find myself turning this way and that, and thus at alternate periods i have part of the audience behind me. you ought never to have any part of the audience behind you; you never can tell what they are going to do.

為什么我們對(duì)如此美妙、如此不切實(shí)際,而我要說(shuō),如此缺乏想象力的東西這么樂(lè)此不疲呢?這樣的故事又如何能夠經(jīng)歷幾代人的重復(fù)?我想，因?yàn)樗堑湫偷某晒Φ睦�。故事的思想性很�?qiáng)，具有代表性。通過(guò)故事帶給我們的啟示，我們認(rèn)識(shí)到了成功定義中的四個(gè)步驟;第一，目標(biāo)的設(shè)定，有如故事里美麗的公主;第二，所遇到的困難和挑戰(zhàn)，就像三大任務(wù);第三，克服困難的過(guò)程，故事中青年經(jīng)歷重重難關(guān)可以作為象征;第四，就是成功的果實(shí)，如同幸福的婚姻。
這個(gè)故事不僅迎合了人們內(nèi)心深處對(duì)成功的'向往，也強(qiáng)調(diào)了過(guò)程和結(jié)果的不可分離。如果通往成功的道路崎嶇曲折，那么成功的回報(bào)必然碩果累累，反之亦然。如果一個(gè)人繼承了父輩的百萬(wàn)家產(chǎn)而生活得輕松富足，那么，即使在物質(zhì)上，他也不能算是個(gè)成功人士，因?yàn)�，他的�?cái)富并沒(méi)有經(jīng)過(guò)艱難困苦而獲得。確切地說(shuō)，“成功”這個(gè)詞，不是個(gè)靜態(tài)簡(jiǎn)單的定義。在我的理解中，真正意義上的成功是奮斗的過(guò)程和經(jīng)歷了奮斗之后贏得的滿意的結(jié)果。請(qǐng)讓我另舉一例來(lái)闡明我的見(jiàn)解。

正常人不費(fèi)力氣做成的事對(duì)于一個(gè)殘疾人來(lái)說(shuō)也許相當(dāng)困難。獲得了同正常人一樣的能力，這個(gè)殘疾人就獲得了成功。這便是我們?yōu)槭裁闯缇词返俜摇せ艚鸬脑颉m然行動(dòng)不便，受到了輪椅的限制，他依然為科學(xué)界作出了巨大的貢獻(xiàn)。
就我自己而言，生性羞澀，容易怯場(chǎng)，不得不鼓起非常大的勇氣來(lái)參加此次的演講比賽。我完全可以待在一邊，不參加大學(xué)級(jí)別的比賽，而落得輕松自在。可是，我還是選擇了接受這一挑戰(zhàn)來(lái)面對(duì)困難�，F(xiàn)在我來(lái)了，如果我能夠得第一的話.這對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)就是巨大的成功。如果，我是最后一名—我希望情況不是這樣—但如果我真的是最后一名，我也不會(huì)認(rèn)為這次的嘗試是一次失敗，反而我要把它當(dāng)作一次真正的成功來(lái)慶賀，因?yàn)槲乙徊糠值哪繕?biāo)是對(duì)自己性格的鍛煉—更加堅(jiān)強(qiáng)、勇敢地面對(duì)困難。對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，這標(biāo)志著我在通向成功人生的漫漫征途中又向前邁進(jìn)了一步，盡管是很小的一步，但是我確實(shí)通過(guò)參與真正地獲得了收益。

Work and play do not contradict each other; in fact, they complement each other. As the saying goes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." A life burdened with work leads you nowhere, for you would get tired and bored with your daily routine work. On the other hand, proper recreation will relieve the tension and discomfort of our monotonous life because it offers you various ways to let out your pent-up emotions.
What I usually do to relax after school is jogging and seeing movies. Usually I dont spare time for exercise, but I value the physical education class at school. Jogging several rounds in the field certainly relieves the days pressure. On weekends, Ill catch the morning movie for my visual enjoyment. I feel revived and energetic for another weeks work-load.
