Which:1.非限定性定語從句用which。

2．介詞加關系代詞用which。

3．一個句子有兩個定語從句時從句先行詞是物，若前一個已用that,后一個用which.

4.先行詞本身是that，用which。

That:1.先行詞為all,everything,nothing,little,much,none等不定代詞。

2．.先行詞被no,any,some,last,only,little,much,the very 等所修飾.

3.先行詞是序數詞或被其所修飾。

4．先行詞是最高級或被最高級所修飾。

5．先行詞既有人又有物。

6．先行詞是數詞。

7．一個句子有兩個定語從句時從句先行詞是物，若前一個已用which.，后一個用that。

8．在否定句和疑問句中常用 that。

A.關系詞的選擇。

1. 介詞+關系代詞要根據謂語動詞的固定搭配

1)This is the book for which I paid 8 yuan.(pay money for sth.為固定搭配)

2)This is the book on which I spent 8 yuan.(spend money on sth為固定搭配)

2. 根據先行詞與介詞的搭配

1)This is the house in which Lu Xun lived.

2)I’ll never forget the day on which I joined the party.

3．形容詞與介詞的固定搭配。

1) We will visit the Mountain Tai,for which Shandong is famous in the world.

2) You ’better not bring your child to see the animals of which he is afraid.

4.介詞的位置一般放在關系代詞之前，有時也可放在從句中原來的位置上。e.g.

1)This is the boy (whom )he worked with.

2)This is the boy with whom he worked.

.關系副詞when, where, why的用法

關系副詞都等于一個適當的介詞＋which，在從句中作狀語

When=in/at/on/…+which;

Where=in/at/on/…+which;

Why=for /…+which
