過去進行時

1. 過去進行時表示過去某一時刻正在進行或發生的動作，也可以表示過去一段時間內的活動或那個階段正在進行的動作。如：

He was watching TV at 8:00 yesterday.

他昨天八點鐘正在看電視。（過去某一時刻）

He was writing a book last month.

上個月他正在寫一本書。（過去一段時間）

2. 過去進行時是由be（was / were）+ 動詞ing形式構成的。

肯定式：主+ was / were +現在分詞+……

否定式：主+ wasn’t / weren’t +現在分詞+……

一般疑問句：Was / Were +主語+現在分詞+……？

肯定回答：Yes, 主+ was / were.

否定回答：No, 主+ wasn’t / weren’t.

如：She was listening to music this time yesterday.

She wasn’t listening to music this time yesterday.

Was she listening to music this time yesterday?

Yes, she was. / No, she wasn’t.

3. 過去進行時和一般過去時所表示的含義是有區別的，過去時強調過去某個時間發生的動作或存在的狀態，過去進行時強調過去某一時刻或某一段時間正在進行的動作。

如：I did my homework last night.

我昨晚把作業做了。（作業已完成）

I was doing my homework last night.

我昨晚一直在做作業。（不一定做完）

（一般過去時表示動作已完成，而過去進行時則不一定完成，只強調正在做。）
