14-year-old作定語，修飾student，這種用連字符號形式的定語，每個單詞要用單數(shù)。
如：three-thousand-metre road 三千米長的公路
four-metre-deep river 4米深的河
two-metre-tall man 兩米高的男人
look for 尋找
find 找到
look for 尋找，強調(diào)找的動作。如：
I am looking for my pen. I don’t know where it is.
我正在尋找我的鋼筆。我不知道它在哪里。
find 找到，強調(diào)找的結(jié)果。
I can’t find my pen, so I want to buy one.
我不能找到我的鋼筆，所以我想要買一支。
3. He found 3 boys and they set up a band.
他找到了3個男孩并且組建了一支樂隊。
set up build
兩者都有“建立”的意思，有時可以互換，但set up側(cè)重于組建一個組織，而build多指具體建筑，制作。如：
build a school 蓋一所學校
set up a school 建立一所學校
Mao Zedong set up the PLA. 毛澤東創(chuàng)建了中國人民解放軍。
4. They continue making music. 他們繼續(xù)創(chuàng)作音樂。
continue后接不定式或動名詞，其意不變，繼續(xù)做某事。
go on to do sth. 繼續(xù)做與原來不同的事
go on doing sth. 繼續(xù)做原來的同一件事
如：他繼續(xù)彈鋼琴。
He continued to play the piano. = He continued playing the piano.
他繼續(xù)又講了一個故事。
He went on to tell a story.
我媽媽繼續(xù)做飯菜。
My mother went on cooking.
5. Where was she born? 她出生在哪里？
born是bear的過去分詞
（1）be born in + 地點 出生在某地
I was born in Changsha. 我出生于長沙。
（2）be born in + 時間（不含日的時間） 在……時間出生
I was born in 1981. 我出生在1981年。
He was born in April. 他出生于4月。
（3）be born on + 時間（具體時間，帶有日期） 在……時間出生
I was born on April 2nd. 我出生于4月2日。
（注意：“出生”發(fā)生在過去，所以be動詞用過去式。）
6. Which song of Lily’s do you like best? 你最喜歡Lily的哪首歌曲？
（1）which song of Lily’s 莉莉的哪首歌曲
雙重所有格 of + ’s結(jié)構(gòu)
如：a friend of my mother’s = my mother’s friend 我母親的一個朋友
a play of John’s = John’s play 約翰的戲劇
（2）best為well的最高級
like best 表示最喜歡……，如：
I love my mother best. 我最喜歡我媽媽。
like ... best 常和形容詞favorite進行句型互換。
如上句可換成：What is your favorite song of Lily’s?
7. So it is great fun to him. 對于他來說，它有很大的樂趣。
so是一個連詞，在這里承上啟下的作用。可以不譯。it指代上文出現(xiàn)的事。fun在這里作形容詞講，意思是有趣的。
“to”為介詞，后加人表示“對于某人來說”。
如：English is important to us.
英語對我們來說很重要。
8. He thinks it sounds wonderful. 他認為它（爵士樂）聽起來很精彩。
（1）think后加一個肯定句，表示某人對某事的評價，要想表達一個否定意思時，必須否定think。如：
He thinks the movie is interesting.
他認為這部電影有趣。
He doesn’t think the movie is interesting.
他認為這部電影沒有趣。
（2）sound為一個系動詞，后加形容詞表示聽起來……
類似的詞還有：smell，look，taste，feel等。
拓展：系動詞本身有詞義，但不能單獨作謂語，后面必須跟表語構(gòu)成系表結(jié)構(gòu)，說明主語的狀態(tài)、性質(zhì)、特征等。
（這些我們在前面的Unit 1已詳細講過，現(xiàn)在我們再重新復習一下。）
（1）狀態(tài)系動詞（be）用來表示主語狀態(tài)、性質(zhì)、特征。
如：I’m a student. 我是一名學生。
She is very beautiful. 她很漂亮。
（2）持續(xù)系動詞，用來表示主語繼續(xù)或保持一種狀態(tài)或態(tài)度。
主要有keep，stay，remain等。
Keep healthy. 保持健康。
Stay happy. 保持快樂。
（3）表像系動詞，用來表示看起來像……，主要有l(wèi)ook，seem等。
He looks very young. 他看起來很年輕。
（4）感官系動詞，主要有feel（感覺），smell（聞起來），sound （聽起來），taste（嘗起來）。
如：He feels very happy. 他感覺非常開心。
It tastes delicious. 它嘗起來很好吃。
（5）變化系動詞：表示主語變成什么樣，有become（變得），grow（變得），turn（變得），get（變得）。
The weather gets warmer and warmer.
The leaves turn green. 樹葉變綠了。
Grammar Focus:
be going to ...
1. be going to是一般將來時的一種表達方法。它表示：
（1）現(xiàn)在打算在最近或?qū)硪瞿呈拢鞘孪瓤紤]好的。
I’m going to see my grandma next week.
我將在下星期去見我的奶奶。
（2）說話人根據(jù)已有的跡象認為可能要發(fā)生某事。
Look at the clouds. It’s going to rain.
2. be going to后既可加動詞原形，表示將要做某事，又可加地點名詞，表示將要去某地。如：
He is going to buy a present for his mother.
他將去給他媽媽買一件禮物。
He is going to the zoo next Sunday.
他下周日將去動物園。
3. be going to 句式的基本結(jié)構(gòu)
肯定句：主 + be going to ...
如：He is going to swim tomorrow.
他明天將去游泳。
否定句：主 + be + not + going to ...
如：He isn’t going to swim tomorrow.
他明天將不去游泳。
一般疑問句：Be + 主 + going to ... ?
如：Is he going to swim tomorrow? 他明天將去游泳嗎？
4. be going to 用于there be結(jié)構(gòu)中時要用There be going to be + 主語 + 其它形式。前面be動詞根據(jù)后面的主語確定，而后面的be動詞保持不變。如：
There is going to be a football game tomorrow.
明天將有一場足球賽。
