　　the majority of 大多數后接復數謂語動詞或單數謂語動詞，根據of后的名詞

　　the majority作主語（謂語動詞用單復數均可）

2.有些動詞后既可接動詞不定式，也可接動名詞，但表示不同的含義。

1）　　remember/forget to do sth記住/忘記要做的某事

　remember/forget doing sth記住/忘記做過某事

eg. I shall remember to go and see him tomorrow.

She forgot telling him about it.

2) regret to do sth因要做或要說什么而抱歉或遺憾

regret doing sth因做了或說了什么而遺憾或后悔

I regret to say I can’t attend your English evening.

I regret having interrupted you.

3)mean to do sth.打算/有意要/企圖/意欲做某事

Mean doing sth.意味著，需要做某事

Do you mean to stop working now?

Success means working very hard.

4)try to do sth.試圖或努力去做某事

try doing sth.試著做某事

5)go on to do sth.做完一件事后，繼續做另一件事

go on doing sth.繼續做同一件事

6)stop to do sth.停下來以便做另一件事

stop doing sth.停止做某事

3.would rather寧愿

would rather(not)do…寧愿（不）做……

would rather+that-clause（其賓語從句中的謂語動詞應用過去時）表示現在或將來的愿望，過去完成時表示對過去愿望。

eg.①I’d rather not make money.我寧愿不賺錢。

②I’d rather you remained here.我倒寧愿你留在這兒。

③I’d rather I had not gone to the cinema last night.

但愿我昨晚沒去看電影。

4.congratulate sb on(doing) sth祝賀某人某事

注意：congratulate oneself慶幸，感到幸運

名詞congratulation祝賀，多用復數形式，與on連用；表“賀信，賀電”時用作不可數名詞。

我們祝賀他通過了考試。

②We sent them a telegram,congratulating them on their success.

我們給他們發去電報，祝賀他們成功。

③Congratulations on your success!　祝賀你成功！
