Part One The Analysis of teaching material
The Violence of Nature是外研版Book 3 Module 3的一篇閱讀文章，文章共分3部分，分別介紹了兩種自然災(zāi)害--龍卷風(fēng)和颶風(fēng)的形成和危害及一次異常事件。
Part Two Teaching aims
1. 讓學(xué)生識記并能正確運(yùn)用以下詞匯：ash, bury, current, disaster, erupt, flow, latitude, lava, occur, tornado, tropical, hurricane, pick up, take off, on average, end up。
2. 學(xué)習(xí)過去完成時的被動語態(tài)的用法。
3. 理解含有所學(xué)生詞、含有過去完成時的被動語態(tài)和間接引語的句子和段落，讀懂其意義并獲取信息；理解模塊提供的和來自其他渠道的對不同自然災(zāi)害的介紹并獲取信息。

5. 了解自然災(zāi)害的危害，結(jié)合發(fā)生在我國的兩次大地震及甘肅省舟曲縣的泥石流，激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)好科學(xué)文化知識的決心和信心，以實際行動作好與自然災(zāi)害作斗爭的準(zhǔn)備，為人類造福。
Part Three Important points and difficult aims
1. 通過閱讀理解詞匯，通過詞匯學(xué)習(xí)掌握文章主旨，加深對文章的理解。
2. 理解文章中含有定語從句的句子及含有過去完成時的被動語態(tài)的句子。
3. 聯(lián)系實際，了解不同的自然災(zāi)害帶來的危害，激發(fā)學(xué)生利用所學(xué)知識與自然災(zāi)害作斗爭的決心。

1. Almost all of them occur in the US, in the area from Texas in the southeast to South Dakota in the north.

StepⅥ Discussion
The teacher shows the topic and some information about the Wenchuan earthquake. First, let the students discuss in groups. Second, each group will display a passage according to the given materials.
