Ask some students to translate some phrases or spell some words they learned last period

Step 3: Lead-in

OK, last class we learned about where you went on vacation. Do you want to know where Grace,Kevin,Julien went on vacation? Now let’s listen to the tape to know where they went.

Step 4: Listening(2a,2b)

1. Listen to the tape the first time and complete the chart. Before listening, the teacher tells ss to listen to the key words.

2. Listen to the tape again .Before listening ,ask ss the meaning of each phrase in 2b.

3.Listen to the tape the third time and ask ss to check the answers.

Step5: Pairwork 2c

Ask students to work in pairs to make a conversation like 2c according to the material in 2a and 2b.

Step6 Now we have known where they went on vacation.We have two friends, Rick and Helen let’s see where they went on vacation.

<1> Give students 1 minute to read the passage . Then ask some students to say where Rick and Helen went on vacation. At last, let students read the dialogue by all kinds of ways(boys pk girls,groups pk groups.)

<2>Then teacher leads students to analyse the dialogue sentence by sentence. In the process teacher will make some examples to help students master the key structures.

1.>不定代詞的用法復(fù)合不定代詞包括 something, somebody, someone, anything, anybody, anyone, nothing, nobody, no one, everything, everybody, everyone 等。它們在句中可用作主語、賓語或表語,但不能用作定語。something, someone 等和 anything, anyone等的區(qū)別與 some 和 any 的區(qū)別一樣,前者一般用于肯定句,后者一般用于否定句、疑問句或條件句(參見 any & some)。具體使用時(shí)應(yīng)注意以下幾點(diǎn):

1. 復(fù)合不定代詞受定語修飾時(shí),定語應(yīng)放在它們后面:

There is nothing wrong with the radio. 這收音機(jī)沒有毛病。

Have you seen anyone [anybody] famous? 你見過名人嗎?

2. 指人的復(fù)合不定代詞若用作主語,其謂語動(dòng)詞一般用單數(shù),相應(yīng)的人稱代詞和物主代詞也用單數(shù) he, him, his (不一定指男性)。但在非正式文體中常用復(fù)數(shù)代詞 they, them, their:

Everyone knows this, doesn’t he [don’t they]? 人人都知道這一點(diǎn),不是嗎?

If anybody [anyone] comes, ask him [them] to wait. 要是有人來,讓他等著。

3. 指事物的復(fù)合不定代詞若用作主語,謂語動(dòng)詞只能用單數(shù),相應(yīng)的人稱代詞也只能用 it,而不用 they:

Everything is ready, isn’t it? 一切都準(zhǔn)備好了,是嗎?

4. anyone, everyone 等只能指人,不能指物,且其后一般不接of 短語。若是指物或后接 of 短語,可用 any one, every one (分開寫):

any one of the boys (books) 孩子們(書)當(dāng)中的任何一個(gè)(本)

every one of the students (schools) 每一個(gè)學(xué)生(一所學(xué)校)

2>seem 的用法。 seem + 形容詞 看起來….. You seem happy today.

seem + to do sth. 似乎、好像做某事 I seem to have a cold

It seems / seemed + 從句 看起來好像…;似乎…. It seems that n o one believe you.

seem like ….好像,似乎….. It seems like a god idea.

4. Ask students to look at 3b, try to fill in the blanks. Ask 3 students to come to the blackboard to write down their answers.Then teacher checks the answers.

Look at 3c and give them 5minutes to complete the chart.

Master some adjectives to describe somethings, and the usage of indefinite pronouns, review some sentence structures about the Simple Past Tense.

2. Ability objects

Train Ss’ listening, writing and speaking abilities.

3 .Moral object

Learn to talk about your vacations by using the simple past tense and do some meaningful things during your vacation, enjoy your life.

II. Teaching key points:

Key words: delicious, expensive, exciting, cheap, terrible, boring, something, anything…

Key sentences:Where did Lisa go on vacation?

Did she do anything special there?

Did she buy anything for her best friend?

III .Teaching difficult points:

Learn the usage of indefinite pronouns(something, anything, nothing…) and the sentences about Simple Past Tense .And the listening material and the listening skills.

Some chalks , a tape recorder, a photo of Fangte .

Step1.Greet the students as usual

Step2.Revision

Revise something about the simple past tense and the usage of indefinite pronouns.

Step3. Lead -in

Now , boys and girls ! Look at the photo in my hand! Can you guess where I went on my summer vacation? Yes, I went to Fangte Happy Vallege. I ate something delicious there, and bought some gifts for my parents and friends, but I didn’t have fun .Because the weather was so terrible. So what about your summer vacations? Ask them by using the sentence structures of part 1e. Where did..?/What did …?/Did you..?/How was…?/How were…?(train Ss’ speaking ability)

Step4. Part 1a and 1b

Observe these pictures below , and try to match the words with them correctly.

Answers: f, a, c, e, b, d ,finish 1a.

Look at the words at 1a again, then devide them into happy face and crying face to finish part1b.

Last ask Ss to make up dialogues by using these adjectives.

Step5.Listening (part 1c and 1d)

Listen to the tape , it’s about Lisa’s vacation, please answer the questions in 1c, before listening you should look through these sentences first, then write down key words and the whole sentences to finish 1c.

Listen again, fill the blanks by using some adjectives to finish 1d.

Last check the answers together. And lead them to read the listening material and role play the dialogue. (train Ss’ listening \ writing\ reading abilities)

Step6. Summary

Today we have learnt some sentence structures about Simple Past Tense and the usage of indefinite pronouns, I hope you can talk about your vacations with your partner and you can use the Simple Past Tense fluently and correctly.

Step7.Homework

1. Try to recite the listening material of part 1c after class.

2. Write a short passage of your last summer vacation.

Step 4: Presentation (2b-2d)

1、Give ss 5 minutes to read the passage by themselves, then finish 2c

2、Have the ss come to the blackboard and finish 2c,then check the answers

3、Read the passage again and complete the conversation about Jane’s trip to Penang using the information in the diary entries 2d

Step 1: Greet the class and make a dialogue to discuss about their vacation.

Step 2: 3a Let ss read the title and look at the 3 pictures, let ss know the 3 places in the pictures. Read the words and phrases on the left and translate them, then do the exercise. At last, read the passage together.

Step3: 3b Look at the 8 questions, teacher gives an example to describe my own travel experience and let ss take notes according the questions.

Step 4: After 3b, give ss 10mins to have a draft.

Step5 : 4 Look at the title and the dialogue themselves, try to know the meaning of it. Then give ss 3mins to prepare the dialogue like 4, then ask 4 pairs of ss to act it out.

Step6: Self check 10mins to do it and try to translate it into Chinese. Then check the answerand teacher emphasize some important sentences:

1. Everyone in our class took a bag with some food and water.

2. Everyone jumped up and down in excitement.
