閱讀課是學(xué)生綜合運用所學(xué)語法、詞匯和功能等知識，認(rèn)真閱讀文章，達到幫助其學(xué)習(xí)語言、文化等方面的知識，形成良好的閱讀策略，提高閱讀理解能力的課型。
教學(xué)任務(wù)有以下：
復(fù)習(xí)鞏固所學(xué)詞匯。
逐步閱讀課文，達到深層次理解。
滲透閱讀方法。

教材處理
《牛津高中英語。學(xué)生用書》所選的文章不僅題材廣泛、內(nèi)容豐富、文化意識強、內(nèi)涵豐富，而且體裁多樣，涵蓋了說明文、議論文、小說、戲劇、記敘文等，為學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)語言提供了豐富多彩的素材。本課教材節(jié)選Ann一個加拿大女孩的五篇游記，把她在Pompeii和Loulan兩處的所見、所聞、所感、所思展示出來。教師可以呈現(xiàn)出與這兩處有關(guān)的簡單的對錯問題讓學(xué)生輕松答題，然后過渡到具體的問題，達到深一層次理解，再者對兩個古代城市進行比較歸納，對文章達到更深地理解，最后升華主題，喚起人們保護世界文化遺傳的意識。
教學(xué)目標(biāo)
(1)通過閱讀短文，了解兩處失落的文明--Pompeii和Loulan.
(2)提高學(xué)生閱讀能力。
(3)提高學(xué)生語言運用能力。

(1)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生歸納短文、比較兩個古代城市的異同。
(2)引導(dǎo)學(xué)生升華主題，增強人們保護世界文化遺產(chǎn)意識。

本節(jié)課是在多媒體教學(xué)環(huán)境下實施的大容量、快節(jié)奏的課堂教學(xué)。教師首先讓學(xué)生復(fù)習(xí)回顧與本篇文章相關(guān)聯(lián)的詞匯，接著運用略讀、尋讀、跳讀等閱讀方法，對所節(jié)選的五篇游記從不同層次，由淺入深、由表及里，逐層推進地進行閱讀，從而達到對文章深層次的理解。根據(jù)文章的描述，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生保護世界各國文化遺產(chǎn)、文明古跡的意識，同時讓學(xué)生思考如何去保護文化遺產(chǎn)和文明古跡：逐漸實現(xiàn)從語言的輸入和內(nèi)化到語言成果的輸出，提高學(xué)生應(yīng)用語言的能力。

Some of them have disappeared while others remain today .such as the Great wall, the Terracotta Warriors ,the Hanging Gardens ,Pyramids and so on (showing some pictures of them)

T :From the passage we know Pompeii and Loulan were destroyed by nature.
But I think human may also destroy our civilizations. If we want to make our civilizations exist for ever, I think we should make people have the sense of protecting our civilizations
