1. Words
1) persuade vt. 說(shuō)服; 勸說(shuō); 使信服
【回歸課文】
An advertisement uses words and pictures to persuade people to buy a product or service, or to believe in an idea. (Page 2, line6-7) 廣告用文字和圖片說(shuō)服人們購(gòu)買(mǎi)產(chǎn)品或服務(wù)，或相信一種理念。

4. Sentence structures
1) Not all adds play tricks on us though. (Page 3，line27) 然而，并不是所有的廣告都跟我們玩這類(lèi)把戲。
部分否定（partial negation）：not與表示全部概念的詞all，both，every，always及含有every的合成詞everywhere/everybody/everything等連用時(shí)，不論not位于這些詞的前面還是后面，都構(gòu)成部分否定（partial negation），常譯為“不是一切都…/不總是都…”。
