【學習目標】

3.重難點:
定語從句：在復合句中，修飾某一名詞或代詞的從句叫做定語從句。
The man who lives next to me is a policeman.
You must do everything that I do.
上面兩句中的man 和 everything 是定語從句所修飾的詞，叫做先行詞，定語從句放在先行詞的后面。
引導定語從句的詞有關系代詞that ,which,who 和關系副詞where, when, why. 關系代詞和關系副詞放在先行詞和定語從句之間，起聯系作用，同時又作定語從句的一個成分。
A. 由that 引導的定語從句
一般情況下that 可指人或物，在從句中作主語或謂語動詞的賓語，但不能作介詞的賓語。
The pen that Jim gave me is very nice.
Jim 給我的那支鋼筆很漂亮。（that 在從句中作賓語）
The book that you are looking for is under the desk.你在尋找的那本書在桌子下面。
The car that is the most expensive is Mr Wang’s.最貴的那輛汽車是王先生的。（關系代詞that 在從句中作主語）
B. 由who, whom和whose引導的定語從句
The man who was here yesterday is a teacher.
昨天在這里的那個人是為老師 （關系代詞who 在從句中用作主語）
The man who I saw is Jim’s father.
我見到的那個人是Jim的父親。（who 在從句中作賓語）。
C.which 指物,在從句中作主語或謂語動詞的賓語。
The story which he told was very intersting.他講的故事很有趣。

prefer是及物動詞，意為“寧愿，更喜歡”，相當于like better。
