Step 1. Revision
Check the answers of yesterday’s homework. If necessary, ask the students to do some of them again.

Ask the students to do it by themselves and check answers.And I think it’s better for the students to recite the words.
Step 2. Listening (1b 1c.)
For 1b listen to the tape and check the words you hear .and for 1c, listen and find out which pictureJiangTao and Tom are talking about.
Step 3. Practice (1d)
Ask the students to draw a picture of their family and friends. Then let them talk about it .

Let the students find the male and female first names in this unit and write them .

Give the students some time to look at the pictures first and then listen to the tape and finish 2a, 2b.
Step 4. Practice (1c, 2c 2d)
1. 1c Ask the students to practice 1a in pairs.
2. 2c and 2d At first explain to the students that role-playing means pretending to be the people in the conversation. Ask the students to practice it for a few minutes, then act it out in front of the class.
