1. lead v. 領(lǐng)導，率領(lǐng)，通向；導致 adj. 領(lǐng)頭的，領(lǐng)先的

The guide led us through the forest .到有令我們穿過森林。

Being so lazy will lead to your failure .懶惰會導致你失敗。

2. act v./n. 表演，擔當，舉動，動作

He has acted in many movies .他演了很多電影了。

It is an act of kindness to help others. 幫助別人是一種慈善的行為。

3. adapt v. 使適應

He has not adapted to the custom here. 他還不適應這里的習俗。

第二節(jié)：口語突破短語

1. in danger 在危險中；垂危

The country is in danger of war.那個國家正處于戰(zhàn)爭的邊緣。

He is badly ill. His life is in danger.他病得很重，他有生命危險。

2. as a result of 作為（……的）結(jié)果

He was late as a result of a traffic jam.由于塞車，他遲到了。

He made a big mistake as a result of losing his job.他犯了個大錯誤，結(jié)果丟了工作。

3. die out 滅絕

Dinosaurs died out about 60 million years ago.恐龍在大約六千萬年前就滅絕了。

4. take measures 采取措施

Strong measures will be taken against careless drivers.

8. set free 釋放

They said that the prisoner should be set free as soon as possible.

他們說應該盡快釋放那個犯人。

9. throw away 扔掉；拋棄

Don’t throw away these newspapers. They may come in handy.

I want to succeed, but first of all, I have to master English.

第四節(jié)：口語突破句型

1. …before it is too late. 趁早……

You should make the best of your time and study more before it is too late .

你應該充分利用時間多學一些東西。

We should reduce the pollution before it is too late .我們應該盡早減少污染。

2. …either…or… ……要么……或者……

Either go to work or you’re fired !要么去工作，要么走人！(不要讓老板對你說這樣的話哦)

Either you or I am the right man for the position .要么是你，要么是我將得到這個職位。

3. if you could… , what would you… ?如果你能……，你會怎么做？(“if you could”是一個非真實條件句，所以主句用的是虛擬語氣。)

If you could help poor people, what would you help them with first ?

如果你能幫窮人，你首先會幫幫他們什么？

If you could go to the moon, what would you do there ?

如果你能去到月球，你打算在那兒做什么？

4. It follows / followed that… 必然有……的結(jié)果。/ 結(jié)果是……

He drank too much coffee. It followed that he couldn’t fall asleep.

It will cause a fire if you smoke here .如果你在這兒吸煙，會導致火災的。

第五節(jié)：“三最”短文操練

Today, pollution has become a serious problem to our earth and us. Waste has polluted the air, seas, rivers, and land. It does great harm not only to human beings, but also to animals. Many factories allow poisonous gas and smoke to escape into the air. This damages the health of every living thing on earth. I hope everyone will take steps to solve this serious problem. Pollution must be controlled and the air must be cleaned. Everyone should do his part to fight pollution.
