1.注意since 和for的用法：

for的后面接一段時(shí)間：

I have lived in Beijing for about 12 years. 我在北京已經(jīng)生活了大約12年了。

since后面接點(diǎn)時(shí)間：

I have lived in Beijing since 1994. 我從1994年就一直住在北京。

2．must 和have to的區(qū)別：

have to是“不得不”，表示客觀上的意義；而must是“必須”，表示主觀愿望，如：

It’s time for the meeting. I have to go now. 開會(huì)的時(shí)間到了，我得走了。

否定句,助動(dòng)詞do + not +have e.g. You don’t have to go.你現(xiàn)在不必走。

in search for +名詞 （尋找的目標(biāo)），不是“搜尋的對象”。

e.g. So far, he have been unlucky in his search for gold and have no money at all.

到現(xiàn)在為止，他們尋找金子的運(yùn)氣一直不好，而且他們身上也沒錢了。

2. ...and so far has brought thousands of overseas Chinese students... (P116) ……到目前為止，它帶來了成千上萬的海外華裔學(xué)生……

so far “到目前為止”，常用于完成時(shí)，表示動(dòng)作從過去開始一直延續(xù)到現(xiàn)在，強(qiáng)調(diào)到目前為止的情況,可位于句首，也可位于句末。

3. Most, like Robert, can hardly speak any Chinese, and have never been to China before. (P116) 像羅伯特一樣，大多數(shù)人幾乎都不會(huì)說中文，而且以前從來沒有到過中國。

（2）have been to表示某人“去過某地，現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)回來了”，可用于各種人稱。

thanks to是介詞詞組，后接名詞或代詞,“多虧”；“由于”，在句中作原因狀語。
