[考點] with a scar on his forehead是with的復合賓語結構,它是 “獨立主格”結構的一種形式。賓語補足語除了介詞短語之外，還可以是形容詞、副詞、-ing形式、過去分詞、不定式等。

[考點] as if表示“好像；仿佛”，引導表語從句或方式狀語從句，有時還可以接不定式。注意：as if引導方式狀語從句時，從句謂語常用虛擬語氣。如：

It looks as if the suit was made by her mother.

這套衣服看起來好像是她媽媽做的。

He talks as if he knew all about it.

他說話的口氣好像他知道了所有的事情。

He opened his mouth as if to say something.

他張開嘴好像要說些什么。

[點撥] 考例1選C。從句所表達的意義與現在事實相反，故應用一般過去時。考例2選D。as if后接不定式，且該動作尚未發生，故選D。

[考點] be doing/about to do...when...是常用句型，表示“一件事情正在或將要進行，這時發生了另一件意外的事情”。when的意思相當于and just then或and at that time。
