1.swallow vt.吞吃；不嚼就吃下去

She swallowed the medicine with the help of some water.

2.dip into 蘸進；隨便翻閱；稍稍研究

I haven’t read that book properly. I’ve only dipped into it.

3.in a word總之=in one word

后跟動詞不定式，往往用在一時的情形。

拓展：以-ly結尾的形容詞還有：

對比：alive(1)活著的：可以作表語，這時可與living互換；作定語時，只能作后置定語。

(2)有活力的

He was alive when he was taken to the hospital.

他被送往醫院時還活著。

Although he is old, he is still very much alive.

雖然年老了，但他仍十分活躍。

live（1）（動、植物）活著的，作前置定語；如：a live fish一條活魚

13. make money = earn money賺錢
