StepⅠ: Present the words to be learnt today to the Ss

Ask the Ss to fill in the blanks with proper words or phrases

1. Have you heard about Kwanzaa? Kwanzaa is a seven-day festival celebrating the culture and history of African Americans.

2. People give sugar skeletons to each other as gifts.

3. People celebrate it by lighting a candle each day and discussing one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa.

4. We should build and support our factories and shops.

5. Kwanzaa was born in 1966, when people create a new festival so that African Americans would be able to celebrate their history and culture.
